So unless you have been living under a rock, you have heard about the british lady who, unbeknownst to her, was videotaped by closed circuit in UK luring a cat to a trash can and then picking up the cat(Lola) and throwing it in the UK Wheelie bin(that is what the British call them). The cat apparently suffered 16 hours in the trash can without success in jumping out. It was a pretty traumatic experience. For a damn cat. A lot of backlash. Charges being filed. Death threats… It’s just a fucking cat. I looked up the name ‘Lola’ for it’s meaning. It’s spanish and means sorrow. I guess the petrified puss was pretty damned sad for the 16 hours it was stuck inside that hot trash can. Boy she will have some stories to embellish on to her cat buddies. Sure, I have cats, too. And I have been known to play a practical joke or two. The laser pointer fun. Tape on the paws. Yelling at them. At least I do not live in Asia. I have not seen nor heard anyone offering any free psychiatric treatment for said cat. And how do we know that Lola did [...]

Well, I want to congratulate everyone within eyeshot of this blog. As of August 19th and according to Americans for Tax Reform, you are now working for yourself!!! That is the national average, actually. You can go here and see where your state falls into the equation. Sorry, Connecticut. But the good news is that this is good. Compared to Next year. Because come 2011, it gets worse. Reading here, things will get a bit more interesting as far as your bottom line. You all know I am an optimist with a hint of realism just for proactivity’s sake. So let us try to look at the good side. What? There is a good side? Sure! The world is going to end in December 2012, anyways, right? But really. Do you think the world is gonna end? Tough question. Hard to look forward with this world ending rumor staring you in the face. You may not believe it is gonna happen, but the rumor still nags at you. But I think it’s even tougher to live not knowing what your quality of life will be come December 2012.

I have witnessed a new collage of coverage by CNN and other sources of bedbugs here lately. With the fact that this vampire-like vermin is an alliteration within its own name and with my insatiable inclination for random knowledge, I decided to do some research to appease my appetite for intelligence on these pestering parasites. First of all, for a pro, bedbugs are not very harmful except their bothersome bite may itch a bit. Bedbugs can carry other pathogens but after extensive testing has proven that these nocturnal nuisances are unlikely to pass deadly disease from one person to another. Now for a con, they have been gradually growing in number(not in size or we would have to purchase bigger beds!) since 1995. They have been hungry continental hitchhikers arriving back in the states after being largely and thankfully eradicated with DDT in the Early 1940s. For a pro, they reproduce by traumatic insemination. Get this: the female has no genital opening so the male pierces her abdomen with his hypodermic genitalia(how is THAT for having a needle dick?) and ejaculates into the body cavity. That can’t be very comfortable for the fatally female bedbug. Plus with no genital opening, [...]

Laziness as an actual disease?

According to this article in the UK Telegraph, laziness should be classified as an actual disease. This does makes sense to me. What is a disease? ‘A disordered or incorrectly functioning organ, part, structure, or system of the body resulting from the effect of genetic or developmental errors…’ according to Dictionary.com. OK, what is laziness? Averse or disinclined to work, activity, or exertion according to the same source. Next: what causes laziness? You know what? Doesn’t really matter. But the first step is realizing you have the problem then start alleviating it. Don’t have what you want in life? Get up and do something about it. Unhappy with yourself physically and can’t climb a flight of stairs without being out of breath? Get to a gym or AT LEAST take a 20 minute walk three times a week to start. I know about laziness. I have been there. Hell, I am still there in my own mind because I feel I have a long way to go. But I am taking steps to get there because one’s laziness will not go away overnight. But it takes practice. In my mind, laziness affects both things in your life: your physical well [...]

One of the things I enjoy doing EVERY day is seeing how many hits I had on this illustrious site on the prior day. How lucky did I get? Obviously, looking at conscious content and what I wrote about last post is a driving force, what time of day I post, even the weather on the day I post are all factors. Grabbing interest of my fans and posting when I think it is time to be websurfing or facebooking are important. Or so I thought. Read on… Another fascination-and learning experience-is discovering where the hits are coming from. You can go here thanks to Feedjit and see where on this pirouetting planet people are visiting my site from. So time of day is not a factor because it is always 5 o’clock somewhere. Or 6 o’clock. Or 7 o’clock. It’s like a friggin geography lesson. I have a new friend in Slovenia who has a site about Grounded Spirituality and I had never even HEARD of Slovenia. Looks like it may be a nice place to visit. Or at least have a glass of wine while enjoying the view. You should visit his site from time to time-I have [...]

So I saunter into a convenience cafe to secure something to alleviate my aridity. No sodas. No Juices. I desire a bottled water. Since when is a 16 ounce serving of saturation more steep in cents than soda? Than Beer? I carefully consider the cooler choices to decide on one of one dozen brands cooling away for my convenience. Dasani? Concievably. Auquafina? Not a chance. Deer Park? Always figured there was remnants of ruminant in it if it came from park of deer. Hey, what’s this? Prima. Looks good. Crisp. Unguilty. The bottle is made from 100% Vegetables. Not crude oil. 100% biodegradable. What a concept. Forgive my ignorance, but should we not have been doing this a long time ago?

The other day I bit my tongue while eating lunch. I was going to add the phrase ‘by accident’ while writing this, but marveled in the thought that most likely one would not wound one’s own tongue on purpose. Unless, you are EMO or someone of that bent. But mashing my mucosa hurt like hell! Thoughts of my paralyzed and possibly amputated papillae as I suffered the stinging of my half chewed sustenance mixing into the new cavern in my head was seemingly unbearable!! Many can and would state that I should not endure any more new niches anywhere near my cranium. There was no blood to worry about or to ruin the taste of the rest of my lunch not yet consumed. Yet lunch was still not enjoyed because of my caution of not taking the same stupid bite pattern again. Reminds me of the Garfield comic where his Garfield’s master, Jon asks this famous feline ‘just which paw do you start with when you start in any forward motion?’. Garfield looked at us with the realization that he may never walk again. After the suffering was past sufficient, my curiosity turned to cogitation of just what makes one [...]

Last weekend, I watched Pastor John Hagee. My brother in law calls him the “Fire and Brimstone Pastor”. His sermon (Hagee’s-not my brother in law’s) was how Iraq was going to be destroying America in the near future to bring the superpower(us) to our knees with EMPs. Hey that kinda rhymed. Anyways. Yes, I agree that this is a threat. But is it a threat I can do anything about? I mean, me personally? So why should I worry about it? I think I will stick with serenity instead… But my usual frame of thinking is this: There is again a fine line between being apathetic and a fanatic. And that line is of course relative. Maybe there is nothing we can do about Iraq but we just need to be ready for the rapture. If you believe in that. I do not know if I have the faith for that. I remember when I was a regular in church, I felt like I was still not a good enough christian because I was told that literally I wasn’t unless I did this list of things. I am not sure I am suited for religion. I always though of myself [...]

First of all, welcome the new tayappention layout. After much trial and error, I have succumbed to a brand new theme with new hopes and aspirations to accompany the new tayappention… Liver and lung cleansing is also on yours truly’s agenda as I have been purging nicotine and alcohol from my mammal temple. Along with these (sometimes) necessary evils I am attempting to banish from my body, there are other entities that are not so easy to expel. Those are in my crosshairs as well.
