First of all, Happy Mother’s Day. To my mother. Thanks for being the best Mom you can be. I couldn’t have done ‘it’ without you. Now that I have that taken care of, I would like to get something off my chest. I will preface with this: there is a house and there is a home. The difference? A house is just any old house. A home is your house. Where you leave from in the morning to go to work and where you drive to every night knowing that in your freezer in your home is a bottle of Southern Comfort waiting to be poured over ice for you to enjoy and rewind. Well, my home does anyways. My point? The term mother does not have a different more personal term for it like house and home does. You can have slang terms or endearing terms for mother like Mom or Ma or Mommy. They can be a bit more personal and regional and more age specific, but still the root is mother. And the holiday is called Mother’s Day. So really you have to celebrate your Mother, the mother to your rugrats AND ANY OTHER WOMAN THAT HAS [...]

So I have had my HTC Evo 3D since last October, I think. I love my HTC phone. Probably loyal to them for a good long time. Got the phone for many reasons, but taking 3D pics was not at the top of that list. I could take 3D photos(or 2D) and 3D video but all I could do was look at these pics on my phone…until now. Not sure how I ran across phereo.com, but now I can actually look at my 3D photos at a size bigger than what’s on my screen. Now any 3D pics I take can have a purpose. Still have lots to learn, I think but I will share when I have more. Here is one of my first. I have it set to default wiggle. but there are other settings to press at the bottom of the pic.

First there was SOPA and ACTA and PIPA. Now it is CISPA. Actually, CISPA has been out there for a while. H.R.3523 — Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act of 2011 was introduced November 30, 2011. When I first saw data on CISPA, I was not too awful worried. I was wrong. CISPA is actually worse than SOPA. So I am thinking why can’t we do what we all did last time and just have an internet blackout like we did for SOPA and the government will listen to us(as they should) and not pass this heinous bill. Well, last time the bill actually hurt those same sites/companies as far as their liability and business practices. SOPA made life difficult for the Googles and the Facebooks out there. So they protested and thereby let us in on the whole SOPA bill for their best interests. I don’t blame them for that. Not the case anymore. CISPA actually protects these sites/companies with such a broad set of guidelines that they are LITERALLY untouchable under the ‘cybersecurity’ premise. SOPA actually helps the CISPA bill. Read this. I do believe that the government wanted a CISPA-type bill all along and were very devious [...]

I was working on doing some site maintenance today and saw that I had a shitload of spam. As opposed to deleting it all in a single mouse click, I figured I would look through a few of the accolades. These spammers are getting very imaginative in their methods. The compliments run rampant. Oh, how kind all these people are!!! I would be flattered if I was naive enough to be believe that they really meant what they said. Obviously, the goal here is to get on my good side so I will leave up their absolute best comments to stroke my ego and show other visitors just how damn good I really am!!! But then I thought what if they are being sincere? Maybe along with having alterior motives and getting some free publicity for their site, these other site managers are really digging tayappention? I mean, I know I would. Maybe I am just not secure enough in my blather skills to think that people really like me. Anyways, I left some of the best ego strokers up just because they worked so hard at stroking me. I thought they deserved some recognition and a plug. Because once [...]

So SOPA is pretty much dead due to public outcry. Thank goodness. But now there is another bill out there called CISPA. Everyone is crying about it as it is SOPA’s son. But it’s not. Read for yourself. Everybody has to have a hobby. It’s great when that hobby can make you some $$. I am going to concentrate a bit more on the writing as opposed to the blogging so you will find me on Helium. Not literally. Although I will try anything once… First thing I have decided on trying to learn more about are Siberian huskies as our puppy Glacieus is. Although he is actually a wolf puppy. Pictured above.
On IMDB, I found this list of movies coming out sometime in the next 3 years and the list seemed pretty interesting. Mostly for what the Studios are making sequels of. Pirates of the Caribbean I can believe, but a Taken 2? Really? How about a remake of A Star is Born? I’m not interested. Avatar 2? Salt 2? Terminator 5? C’mon, really? I could go on or you can just look at the list. So this Martin kid who got killed by Zimmerman. I am sorry that it happened. Really, I am. But why is this news? People are killed every day. And going by Florida’s laws, this should be in the past. We have bigger things to worry about. Still my condolences. You just gotta wonder how things would have turned out if Trayvone was a color other than black…or if Zimmerman was black. Would all this protesting be going on? So right after I got my new home computer-a PC- my Mac started acting up. Just getting slow and lagging a lot. So as everyone does, I do a search for ‘speed up my mac’ and this article is what came up. http://www.maclife.com/article/feature/25_ways_speed_your_mac. It helped a lot.
There are plenty of articles out there about how bad soda is for a human. Here is another one. It’s not just the soda either. The cans themselves can have chemicals on the inside coating which can also cause problems. So if you are going to drink soda, stay away from aluminum cans. Don’t even get me started on diet sodas. Nokia is apparently busy creating some crazy ass shit that they think is gonna work…and people will want. Does anybody want a vibrating tattoo? No, the tattoo doesn’t vibrate all the time. That would be annoying. Maybe. Depends on where the tattoo was. No, it would still get annoying. Anyways, Nokia is working on technology that would make tattoos vibrate when, say, you have a text, email, or phone call. Don’t think I will be standing in any line to get this…you? Ran into this asian cartoon the other day. Think you will like.

I wanted to pass on some valuable information I have learned. Country music is bad for you. Country music can drive you to commit suicide. True Story. Just read this article from Auburn University. I don’t make this shit up!!! Friends, please. Don’t listen to country music if you want to live!!! And of course this is just another reason for ME not to listen to country music. A very compelling one at that. You know what happens when you play a country song backwards? You get your wife back, you get your pickup back, your dogs come back… It’s not like I peruse this site a lot but every now and then, Cracked writers post articles I really am compelled to read. Like this one on Theories of Time. Interesting stuff here. Did you know that you age quicker at higher altitudes? Makes sense, though. Just thought I would share. And with the next Presidential elections right around the corner, you may have to figure out what you really are. Dem, Repub, Libert? Take this Political Compass test and find out.

So I was giving my thoughts on SOPA and PIPA last week and what the two bills meant to the United States and our freedoms on the internet. Well, there is actually a European version of the same bill: ACTA(Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement) which is essentially the same thing but has been presented internationally AND accompanied with a lot more secrecy. You can read more about it here. Internet freedom is not an all or nothing subject. The internet is too big for that. Case in point: The Online Protection and Enforcement of Digital Trade-or OPEN has been introduced. Why has it not got more publicity? Damn good question because OPEN seems to be the answer to both sides. But it seems the media moguls are trying to take control of the internet(and then what?) and we as Americans or Europeans or whatever we are should not(if we are smart about it) let ACTA or PIPA or SOPA happen. So now that there is a viable solution, let’s all work on letting our respective congressperson aware that YOU are in FAVOR of OPEN. I watched a documentary on the history of Absinthe yesterday. Very informative and educational. If you have hulu/huluplus, [...]
